Workshop
Decolonizing Our Queer Identities
The Decolonising Our Queer Identities workshop series offers a powerful reflective space for marginalised communities – African, Black, Arab, Latino, Muslim, Indigenous – from the Global South and immigrant individuals who navigate the impacts of colonialism and oppression. In this intimate setting, participants will engage in meaningful group discussions, creative expressions and critical reflections that span personal and intimate narratives, and collective healing and empowerment.
Beginning in Marseille and travelling to Oslo, Brussels, Paris and beyond, these non-mixed workshops will carve out vital spaces for deep reflection, authentic connection and the reappropriation of identities and histories. If you are interested in joining this workshop, please fill out this participation form: https://5233a7wfamj.typeform.com/to/T41bHWF0
These workshops are designed to build a shared narrative, reclaim your own stories and heritage, and fortify a collective resistance. Documented anonymously with each participant’s consent, the series aims to enrich an archive of the existence with authentic narratives that truly reflect your experiences.
Welcome!
uncivilized collective is an artistic initiative firmly committed to redefining artistic and intellectual narratives. As a collective by and for the marginalised peoples and genders of the Global South, they stand as architects of their own narrative, challenging established norms and rejecting any instrumentalization of their own stories by complicit institutions.
The workshop is presented in collaboration with UKS and the MFA in material- and medium-based art at KHiO (Oslo National Academy of the Arts).
