UKS SUMMER PARTY 2019
Time: Friday 21 June, 4–8pm
Venue: UKS, St. Olavs gate 3, Oslo

Please join us on Friday, 21 June, 4–8pm for UKS’ annual Summer Party! We will be serving “pølser og pils”, Anahita Alebouyeh, Ninni Nyhus, and Amir will perform their new “stage movie” CLUELESS, and Suburban Dad will be DJing. This upcoming weekend also marks the finissage of Özgür Kar’s solo exhibition A New Start, that—after its closure—will have a new new start in August when UKS and Kar will launch a grand, temporary public artwork at Europarådets Plass in central Oslo, produced with the support of Oslo kommune. Stay tuned for more details.

From 4pm we’ll be serving “pølser og pils” and, in conjunction, our friends from 8392 will be doing a small merchandise sale at UKS—come get your UKS sweater, sold on this occasion in a special edition!

At 5pm, if the weather permits, we’ll be organizing a ball game in our backyard. Anyone from 3Y and up are invited to take part.

At 6pm UKS welcomes back Anahita Alebouyeh and Amir with their live production CLUELESS. This “stage movie” is a sequel/rehash of the play that they both presented at UKS’ Summer Party 2017. For this edition, they are collaborating with Ninni Nyhus.

At 7pm Suburban Dad sets the vibe with “music for adults”, devising funk, soul, rocksteady, and disco. Suburban Dad is the pseudonym of UKS’ former Chair, Ruben Steinum, who recently stepped down to step up, taking over the position as Chair of Norske Billedkunstnere (NBK). UKS’ Summer Party 2019 pays tribute to Steinum’s many years of rock steady political work at UKS!

At 8pm we suggest moving on to Kunstnernes Hus, whose Summer Party starts where our’s ends.
