1 June – 26 August 2018
UKS & Kunstnernes Hus

Opening: 7pm at UKS | 8.30pm at Kunstnernes Hus; 9.30pm performance

Please save the date for the opening of the UKS double exhibition «Hoarse Globules» by Sandra Mujinga, taking place on Friday 1 June at UKS from 7pm and continuing at Kunstnernes Hus from 8.30pm including a musical performance and choreography by Mujinga at 9.30pm (access on a first-come-first-served basis). At Kunstnernes Hus this night also forms the notorious UKS SUMMER PARTY featuring, among others, DJ hele jævla staben (incl. DJ Suburban Dad and DJ Cyber Puppy) and DJ KIKELOMO (Berlin) killing it from 10pm!

Questions of self-representation and self-preservation, appearance and opacity, are negotiated in the both musical and visual practice of Mujinga. Forming a pivot in her new commission, at UKS Mujinga creates a clustered, dark terrain of bodies resembling, among other figures, octopi and elephants by combining digital prints, PVC, faux leather, bent plexi-plates, and wearable glycerin forms. At Kunstnernes Hus, Mujinga activates the ground floor space in a three-day-only mobile video installation driven by a series of performances and talks. This marks the grand finale of UKS’ series of displays which occupy both UKS grounds and a part of Kunstnernes Hus.
