#26 HOW TO PRACTICE?
ELISE MACMILLAN

Considering collegial exchange, informal peer-to-peer/practice-to-practice learning, and attempts at friendship as a fundamental part of our remit, UKS presents the weekly walk-in-workshop: HOW TO PRACTICE?

For this 26th workshop, on Monday, 18 November at 10am, Canadian-American artist ELISE MACMILLAN (b. 1988) will help us forget everything we think we know, remember it, and then forget it all over again. Macmillan studied computer music at Stanford University and moved to Norway in 2015 to play the Hardanger fiddle (hardingfele) in Telemark, Norway. She performs and composes as EMACS and is recording new music during residencies at the Embassy of Foreign Artists, Geneva and EMS Elektronmusikstudion, Stockholm. The theme of Macmillan’s Monday morning HOW TO PRACTICE? session can be summed up in the words of Garfield the cat, “You know it’s Monday when you wake up, and it’s Tuesday.”
