Neurodivergent / Funkis Cultural Workers Forum
Welcome to the Forum

UKS is very pleased to open our doors to the Neurodivergent / Funkis Cultural Workers Forum, a monthly open meeting with space to discuss whatever might be on your mind as a neurodivergent/funkis person working in the arts. The meetings will be facilitated by artist and curator Aidan Moesby. We hope they become a safe(r) space to come together as a group of cultural workers who do not experience life according to societal norms.

Neurodivergent and disabled people experience systemic barriers, often invisible, to inclusion and representation in arts and culture. There is a lack of access, inclusion and care when it comes to ‘difference’ or those of us who are not ‘normative’, and this is a space for you to process that. You might identify as autistic, AD(H)D, bipolar, dyslexic, dyspraxic or you might self-identify without a diagnosis. You may also live with chronic health conditions or disabilities – or something else.

There is no restriction on art form or practice – everything from animation to Zumba – or if you are an artist, critic, director, choreographer, musician, etc. Like many marginalised groups, we are stronger together! With this initiative we want to create a caring community to discuss barriers and lived experiences, and with time, perhaps also begin conversations and actions for change.

You are all most welcome to join!
