Questions of self-representation and self-preservation, appearance and opacity, are negotiated in the both musical and visual practice of Mujinga. Forming a pivot in her new commission, at UKS Mujinga creates a clustered, dark terrain of bodies resembling, among other figures, octopi and elephants by combining digital prints, PVC, faux leather, bent plexi-plates, and wearable glycerin forms. At Kunstnernes Hus, Mujinga activated the ground floor space in a three-day-only mobile video installation driven by a series of performances and talks. This marked the grand finale of UKS’ series of displays which has occupied both UKS grounds and a part of Kunstnernes Hus.
