Meeting
Neurodivergent/Funkis Cultural Workers Forum
Living and working as a neurodivergent person
Neurodivergent/Funkis Cultural Workers Forum is a monthly open meeting offering space to discuss whatever might be on your mind as a neurodivergent/funkis person working in the arts. The group is new, open and friendly. The meetings are held in UKS’ kitchen, outside of opening hours, so we have the house to ourselves.
We will start the meeting with a check in and a common theme may emerge which we can then delve into with a deeper discussion. During this meeting we will also focus on some of the language around neurodiversity and the issues we face at work as funkis cultural workers. The article Neurodiversity: Some Basic Terms & Definitions by Nick Walker will be a helpful tool during our meeting. Access it here for free!
The forum is a democratic, open, safe(r) space with collective care at its heart. The meetings are facilitated by artist and curator Aidan Moesby. There is no restriction on artform or practice – like many marginalised groups, we are stronger together! We end our meetings with suggestions for topics for the next meeting and have a social gathering at the bar next door, if that’s your thing.
You are all most welcome to join!
