Curator Talk and Minibar
Commune: NADA x UKS
Please join us on Wednesday 18 September when we present this year’s NADA x UKS curatorial resident, Yiyo Tirado-Rivera!
Each year, UKS collaborates with the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), a not-for-profit collective of professionals working with contemporary art in the US to invite international cultural workers for a one-week curatorial residency in Norway. This year we are happy to welcome Yiyo Tirado-Rivera, all the way from Puerto Rico. Yiyo is an artist and curator and co-founder of contemporary art space and curatorial platform El Kilometro.
On the night, Yiyo will be in conversation with gallerist Felipe R. Pena, founder of two galleries separated by an ocean: Cavalo in Rio de Janeiro and Papai Contemporary in his home in Sankt Hanshaugen. The two will discuss the joys and sorrows of running an art space as well as Yiyo’s ongoing focus on the impact of colonialism on artistic production.
Everyone is welcome!
Yiyo Tirado-Rivera (b. 1990, PR) lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a multidisciplinary artist, exhibition designer and gallery owner.
