Name change

In February 1960 fifty of the then four hundred UKS members petitioned that UKS (Unge Kunstneres Samfund / Young Artists’ Society) should change its name to Norske Kunstneres Samfund / Norwegian Artists’ Society. The name-change conflict led UKS to call for an extra general assembly in March of the same year, where it was ultimately decided that UKS would keep its original name, Young Artists’ Society.
