RODERICK HIETBRINK
AS ACTING DIRECTOR FALL 2019

This upcoming fall Oslo-based Dutch artist, Roderick Hietbrink (UKS Production & Operations Manager), will be at the UKS helm from August through December 2019 in the stead of Director, Rhea Dall, while she works on a research project. Jason Havneraas will take over Hietbrinks position these months.

Under Hietbrink’s direction UKS will present Norwegian, Berlin-based artist, Mikael Brkic‘s solo exhibition Fire and Forget, inaugurate a new public artwork Exposed by Özgür Kar and a grand solo exhibition by Victoria Pihl Lind (November). Moreover the fall will continue with, among other events, the series of HOW TO PRACTICE? Monday morning walk-in-workshops (starting from 26 August)

*Hietbrink (b. 1975, NL) lives and works in Oslo. He is a graduate from Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam and an alumni of Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. Recent solo exhibitions include Rodebrink Hietrick at RAKE visningsrom, Trondheim (2019); Near Hit at Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen (2018); and Soil, My Innards at Kunsthall Oslo (2017). In 2018 he took part in the 33rd Bienal de São Paulo – Affective Affinities: Traveling Exhibitions. He has taken part in group exhibitions at Into Nature biennial, Drenthe (2018); Oslo Kunstforening (2017); and Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF), Svolvær (2015).
