#21 MINIBAR
DAMLA KILICKIRAN—ARTIST TALK & CONVERSATION

Thursday 17 June, 6–7pm
UKS, St. Olavs gate 3

Next Thursday, 17 June at 6pm, we’re very happy to invite you to our first physical event in a very long time: an artist talk and conversation with Damla Kilickiran, whose solo exhibition Among Spirits of Mineral Pitch and Other Public Apparitions is currently on view.

For her UKS exhibition, Kilickiran worked with bitumen—the material that binds asphalt—while studying the potential of selected infrastructural objects as spaces, spirits, and transformative forces. At UKS’ #21 MINIBAR, the artist will be in conversation with Ragnar Bragstad, Senior Advisor at Veiteknisk Institutt in Norway, to discuss urban infrastructure and the material qualities of asphalt. The artist will also talk about the process of creating her solo show at UKS. The talk and discussion will be followed by a Q&A.

NB: The talk will be held in Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish)

*

The event will take place at UKS’ backyard in St. Olavs gate 3. Our MINIBAR will serve refreshments and the exhibition will be open. Following the government’s health and safety regulations, a maximum of 30 people can attend the event. To reserve a seat, please e-mail info@uks.no.
