BOOK LAUNCH—ANE HJORT GUTTU

#13 MINIBAR
BOOK LAUNCH:
WRITINGS, CONVERSATIONS, SCRIPTS BY ANE HJORT GUTTU
Wednesday 29 August, 5pm
UKS, St. Olavs gate 3

UKS cordially invites you to join the launch of Ane Hjort Guttu´s anthology Writings, Conversations, Scripts, edited by Rike Frank.

How to edit, design, and publish artists’ writings? Do artists write differently? Which traditions are to be found within artistic writing? And how does the text work of Ane Hjort Guttu relate to her artistic practice? This book launch comprises readings, playback of a sound piece, and a moderated panel discussion. Curator Rike Frank and writer and editor Halvor Haugen join Guttu as panelists.

Writings, Conversations, Scripts is the first comprehensive survey of text works by Guttu. Written between 2003 and 2018—including her first-ever text published in UKS’ irregular journal UKS Forum—the texts range from public statements, poetic short prose and film scripts, to essays on art for children and the link between light and wealth. With a special focus on the significance of “image-text constellations,” this anthology suggests connections between artistic writing and curatorial publishing.

Writings, Conversations, Scripts is designed by HIT and published by Torpedo Press, Sternberg Press, and the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo in a Norwegian and an English edition.
